Almost September!

It's hard to believe that it is almost September! We are 10 weeks away from our due date and cannot believe how fast the time has gone. She will be here before we know it! Jon put the crib together and got the mattress put in it on Wednesday while I was at school. It looks so nice I can't wait to get everything put together and have the room done :) Other than school and work we are pretty much just being home bodies for right now as we are both tired from all the work on the house and preparing for the baby. Still no names, but we will let you know if we decide on one! Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

Whew! Way too long

Well, it has been entirely too long since we have updated! We are all doing well and finally things are starting to settle down around our house :) Jon finished the majority of the work on the floors on Friday night and now only has a little bit of quarterround left to do in one room. That being said, I finally got the entire house put back together on Friday as well, we had a lot of work to do, but it was definitely worth it as we love the new look to our house. Baby Jewell is doing well, making me get bigger each day! She is very active in there and likes to kick mommy's ribs. We had a 3D ultrasound on Friday, but she is very stubborn and would not show us her face. We figured it just adds to the surprise of getting to see her in November! We had our first baby shower on Saturday at my house. My best friend from HS, Jessica, and my neighbor and friend, Kim threw it for me. It was so much fun and they did such a great job! I have pictures of the house decorated and everyone over that I will eventually have to post. We had quite a big turn out and I hope that everyone had a great time. Jon and I are so very blessed to have such great friends, we got so many great gifts! The nursery is now coming together, we have the changer set up and the crib and mattress are in there to be set up. Jon is doing well, I think he will be spending the week doing a lot of golfing and hanging out with friends since we've done nothing but housework for 3 months! I am back in school and BUSY so I will be studying all week and getting through exams. We hope everyone is doing well and we will put maternity photos up soon!

We're having a girl!!

It's been a little too long! We found out on June 8th that we are having a baby girl! We are very excited and have painted the room a light pink in preparation. We have also been trying to get the hardwood finished, but there've been a few problem spots. Jon is working on patching them and we should start sanding this Friday. Hopefully we can get it done relatively quickly! To hold us up a little more though, we can't stay in our house right now because a drain in the basement backed up and it happened to be the drain the air conditioner was going into so it backed up all the way to the coil and froze it. The house smells horrible and we have an insurance person coming tomorrow to look at it. My doctor said that until it's fixed I can't be in the house. I start school again in a week and a half, so it looks like it will be a hectic week of trying to get things fixed lol. Jon has been very very busy with all of the stuff going on around the house, it will be nice for him when all of this is done and he can relax a little :) Then the baby will be here and there will be no relaxing for either of us lol. Busy weeks!

It has been a very busy past couple of weeks! I finished up with school for the semester and only a few days later I started a preceptorship in Dallas Center. I have been keeping very busy there and it has been pretty fun to be in an actual clinic as opposed to a classroom. Jon has been working outside a lot and some inside. We pulled our carpet up about a week ago thinking we were going to put laminate hardwood floors in, instead we discovered that we have hardwood floors! It's fantastic news, but it will be a lot of work to get the floors finished before I start back at school. So far we have been rearranging the house and trying to get as much done as we can before the baby gets here :) We have another OB appointment on Monday and at that appointment we should hopefully find out the sex! We will keep everyone up to date on the pregnancy and will send out an email as soon as we know if it is a boy or a girl!! Hope everyone is having a great summer :)

Almost summer!

Only one more exam before I get a little bit of a break! I'm excited to get to spend some time with Jon. I will be starting a summer shadow with a doctor in Dallas Center on June 1st. That goes for 4 weeks and then the other 4 weeks are free for me. Jon got a new bike a few weeks ago and with the really nice weather, he and our neighbor have been out on bike rides this week. We had dinner with Jon's mom Terri and her husband Bill tonight. It was nice to see them and to see Jared since we have been so busy the last few weeks. I had an appointment last Friday with the new doctor Jon and I are going to. She was very nice and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat again :) We have an appointment on June 8th to have an anatomical ultrasound and that is when we will get to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl! I can hardly wait :) My tummy is really starting to poke out and it is becoming apparent that I am pregnant. After tomorrow we are done with the 4th month and will be starting the 5th. I will be 16 weeks. We will make sure to let everyone know when we find out if we are having a boy or a girl!

Happy Mother's Day!

Jon and I had a pretty good weekend. His Saturday was a little bit hard because he had to go back to Clinton to be at his dad's estate auction. I wish I could have been there with him, but I had a conference to go to for my rural pathway scholarship, so I was unable to go. He got back Saturday night though and I did not have to spend a second night alone :). On Sunday I woke up to flowers on the table, a really nice card, and a charm to go on my rear view mirror with a baby carriage on it. Overall it was a really nice mother's day. I have 3 exams this week and am getting ready to finish studying for the one at 8 am. I hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

Finally a nice day!

We finally had a fairly nice day today! It was just too bad I was inside the entire day studying for the 2 exams I have tomorrow and didn't get to enjoy it. Jon was out there as soon as he got home working on stuff around the yard. He just finally came inside :) I think it was nice for him to get out there and do some work after having all of this rain. Not too much else to report! Just been very busy trying to keep up with school. I have 26 days and 9 exams until the end of the semester! Hope everyone has a great weekend.
